My step-dad abused me

by Jasmine

I want a job but my rent would go up My step-dad mentally, physically and sexually abused me. He used to hit me, do stuff to me and mess with my head. I used to cry all the time. My school called social services but all they did was give him a warning. I ran away from home and eventually social services did get involved and moved me to a housing project. I'm staying in a hostel now and it feels like a prison. I really want to get a job but I can't because it will make my rent more expensive which I can't afford. But I am more confident now. I feel better about speaking to people.
I'd say to other young people who are being abused just get out of there and move on with your life.
